Safe Arrival

Thank you to everyone for your prayers on our full day of traveling. We traveled from BWI to Miami where we had a lay over until catching our flight to Santo Domingo. After a quick 20 minute drive to the beautiful SCORE complex we are now relaxing, playing dominoes, and getting ready for bed. Tomorrow we are getting up and driving approximately three hours north to where we will be playing our first game of the week tomorrow. From what we have been told, we should have a good amount of people at the game as the locals have been anticipating our arrival for the last few weeks. We may not be able to blog tomorrow because we will be staying at another hotel on the north side of the island but we will be updating you all as soon as possible. Thanks again for your prayers and support.

Back on Campus

Today was the first day that we were all back on campus together to practice and be a team. After the long summer, it was great having everybody together to get up and down the floor a bit. Unfortunately we did suffer one injury, Greg's nose has now been broken for the third time. However, in true warrior fashion, Greg toughed the injury out and is putting off getting his nose set until we return (praying for ya buddy). Despite the fact that Greg is once again the masked man, the rest of practice went off without a hitch with all the guys and Dave back on the floor together (he even hit a three, a new facet of his game that he has apparently added).
After practice, Pelt gave us a little break before we did the cross run as a team. This activity consisted of the team (and coaches) carrying three crosses on a two mile loop around campus where we stopped intermittently to read scripture and take communion. The run provided us with a chance to clear our hearts before the trip and mentally prepare before hopping on the plane tomorrow morning.
So now we are back in the dorm for the night. We are all excited to see what God has in store for us on this trip and to see in what ways He will use us in interacting with the people we come across. Thank you all who may be reading this for your support and prayers as we go on this trip. We all feel very excited and blessed to have this opportunity and will be writing again soon.
